September 1 marks the new fiscal year for the MDRT Foundation. With it, a milestone anniversary, new volunteer leadership, and the deadline for the year’s grant applications. The new year marks the 60th anniversary of the Foundation. President Ted Rusinoff will lead the board of trustees in honoring this anniversary and working to ensure its continued and long term success as the charitable arm of MDRT. In the new fiscal year, 50 members will volunteer their time, talent and treasure to serve on committees to operationalize the Foundation’s mission. Committee assignments include corporate and individual fundraising efforts, financial oversight, global engagement and grants evaluation. The Foundation will continue to engage members by raising awareness and funds for charity partners via campaigns held during signature MDRT events, including the Top of the Table Annual Meeting, the MDRT EDGE and the MDRT Annual Meeting. In addition, MDRT Gives Day is October 23, a global day of giving for the Foundation.
All of these efforts will support the heart of the MDRT Foundation: our grants program. By September 1, charities will have submitted applications to the Worldwide and Quality of Life grants programs for funding consideration for FY2019. These applications represent a range of charitable programs all across the globe; what they all have in common is a connection to an MDRT member. Each grant application must include a letter of endorsement from a current member of MDRT.
