The tragic death of George Floyd has created a great awakening.
As a white man living in America, my existence means I am privileged. I don't know how to fix everything that is wrong, but I am on the path to being a better ally for every Black person affected by systemic racism.
As the President of the MDRT Foundation I am proud to announce that we have awarded a grant of $25,000 to the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI).
Founded in 1989 by Bryan Stevenson, a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer and bestselling author of Just Mercy, EJI is a nonprofit organization that provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons.
EJI works with communities that have been marginalized by poverty and discouraged by unequal treatment. They are committed to changing the narrative about race in America and The MDRT Foundation is proud to invest in their mission.
