Newsroom December Charity of the Month: Santa's Cause "Dear Santa, I would love some clothes because I hardly have any this winter. I might need a jacket because the one I have has holes and the cold air goes in. If you could only bring one thing I would be very thankful," wrote six-year-old Sonny. This is one example of the hundreds of letters Santa's Cause, a charitable organization that delivers anonymous holiday gifts to undeserved children, receives each year from children throughout Oklahoma City.
The MDRT Foundation awarded a $2,500 grant to Santa's Cause on behalf of the selfless volunteerism of Alan J. Webb, a two-year MDRT member from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This grant will be used to purchase clothing, toys and batteries for children in need this holiday season. Webb founded Santa's Cause in 1985, and since then with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous donors has delivered holiday gifts to more than 15,000 children in Oklahoma City and the surrounding areas. Each year Webb volunteers his time to fundraiser for Santa's Cause, manage a team of more than 250 volunteers and coordinate the hundreds of holiday gift requests that come from social workers, teachers and families struggling to make ends meet.
