Million Dollar Promise Campaign

The MDRT Foundation is making a bold promise at the Annual Meeting this year, but we need your help to keep it.

The poor economic climate during the past year has left charities around the world in a desperate condition. More people are homeless, more children are hungry — more are in need of assistance. At the same time, many organizations have found that their pools of support have essentially dried up. The gap between the supply of resources and demand for services has widened, with little hope in sight.

Unlike these organizations, the MDRT Foundation has actually experienced a period of growth this past year — thanks to the overwhelming generosity of its supporters. This accomplishment should not be taken lightly. To all of the people who have made this feat possible, we give a heartfelt thank you.

However, now is not the time to stop our good work. There are still people who need our help throughout MDRT's global community, and we must continue not just to reach out to them, but to expand upon our previous efforts.

Today, your MDRT Foundation is vowing to do just that. We have made a "million dollar" promise to give away $1 million in grants to help those in need.

To keep its promise, your MDRT Foundation needs the support of the entire MDRT membership around the world. With the legacy of making grants in over 60 countries, the MDRT Foundation has already begun tackling global issues of child development, poverty, hunger and illness. In honor of its commitment to global outreach, the MDRT Foundation is using 100 percent of contributions from non-North American members to support worthy organizations located outside of North America. To increase our impact, we need the participation of every MDRT member in every country.

Luckily, our caring and sharing members have a habit of overachieving when it comes to compassion. Three years ago, MDRT members contributed to the success of FOCUS 2000. FOCUS 2000 enabled the MDRT Foundation to use every pledge dollar received to make meaningful grants in member communities around the globe. That means every penny you give today will go back to worthy charities around the world — right where it is needed most.

We anticipate that the Million Dollar Promise Campaign will enjoy the same success as FOCUS 2000. While $1 million may seem like an overwhelming amount, the power to reach our goal is within your grasp. If every person attending the 2003 Annual Meeting gives $100, we can reach fulfill our million dollar promise right there.

While this is a challenging endeavor, especially at this time, we know our members will rise up to meet this goal. When you come to the Annual Meeting, please give from your heart. We promise you'll be glad you did.
