Park Ridge, Illinois (May 23, 2003) Marvin H. Feldman, CLU, ChFC, of East Liverpool, Ohio, has been announced as the 2004 Circle of Life Award honoree by the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Foundation. To recognize Feldman, a gala will be held in his honor in 2004. Proceeds from the event will support MDRT Foundation grant programs and a charity of Feldman’s choice. Begun in 1999, the Circle of Life Award honors those who possess the characteristics the MDRT Foundation has long held in high regard: a generous nature, charitable spirit, strong community involvement and industry leadership. Specifically, the Award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to the MDRT Foundation, the life insurance industry and to their communities. “Having Marv as our 2004 Circle of Life Award recipient is an honor for us all,” said 2003 MDRT Foundation President Mitchell W. Ostrove, CLU, ChFC, of White Plains, New York. “His unwavering support of many worthwhile charitable organizations and his long-time dedication to the industry, are unparalleled. The Circle of Life Award is the MDRT Foundation’s most prestigious award, and Marv is the ideal recipient.” Feldman, a 29-year MDRT member, has 22 Top of the Table (TOT) honors, a designation reserved for producers who have demonstrated the highest level of professional knowledge, client service and ethical conduct. He is also a generous supporter of the MDRT Foundation as an Excalibur Knight, which is the Foundation’s highest level of giving. Within the Round Table, Feldman has served five years on the Executive Committee, MDRT’s governing body, including serving as the 2002 MDRT President. Currently, he is serving as the 2003 MDRT Immediate Past President. In addition to his generous donations to the MDRT Foundation, Feldman is an MDRT Foundation Steward and Gift of Life Insurance Program participant. Feldman is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Mahoning Valley Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Ohio Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting and the Financial Planning Association. His previous industry experience includes serving as a member of New York Life’s Strategic Planning Committee and the Universal Life Product Committee, as well as secretary of New York Life’s Agents Advisory Council. His other positions have included the Golden Key Society, The American College; Grantor, President’s Circle, The American College; Grantor Legislative Circle, Association for Advance Life Underwriting; and Centurion, LUPAC. An MDRT business and community leader, Feldman has contributed to East Liverpool through his work on the Economic Development Committee, the Megafund Committee and the East Liverpool City Hospital Fund Raising Committee. He has served as chair of the East Liverpool United Jewish Appeal and co-chair of the Kent State University, East Liverpool Branch, Advanced Gifts Capital Campaign Program. Feldman was a founder and is currently a director of the First National Community Bank in East Liverpool. He has served as a trustee and Chairman of the East Liverpool City Hospital and was a recent recipient of the Distinguished Alumni of East Liverpool High School Award. Feldman is also listed in Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Business and Finance. Feldman, a graduate of Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, received his bachelor of science degree in marketing, with a minor in economics, before signing a career agent contract with New York Life in 1967.
