MDRT Members Keep the Promise in New Orleans

At the 2005 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, contributors to the 2005 Million Dollar Promise Appeal put a charitable twist on the New Orleans tradition of wearing colorful beaded necklaces. Each flashing string of red, white and gold beads proudly worn by donors to this annual appeal illuminated their giving hearts.

MDRT members proudly wear the flashing beads they received when making a donation to the Foundation at the 2005 Annual Meeting.

More than 1,000 MDRT members and guests united to keep this year’s promise by contributing $100 or more to this appeal which, at time of press, raised more than $168,000 USD. Contributions will fund the Foundation’s Worldwide Grant Program, which distributes funds to a diverse range of causes in MDRT member communities worldwide. The funds raised also will help the MDRT Foundation fulfill its million dollar promise of granting more than $1 million USD in 2006.

At the MDRT Foundation booth, members and guests enjoyed reading highlights from the 46-year history of the MDRT Foundation in a giant, life-size book that celebrated a unique past of changing lives throughout the world. Campaign participants also received a wristband from Comfort Zone Camp, a custom print from Mariam Paré and hair clips from Taybear Company, all of whom appeared on Main Platform and spent time with members and guests in the Foundation booth. Donors of $1,000 or more also received a premier MDRT Foundation carrier case. Again, the Foundation sincerely thanks all of the benevolent donors who celebrated the Foundation’s past, which will allow us to create a brighter future for those in need today and tomorrow.
