Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families

At the young age of six, Holly arrived at the emergency shelter, Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, traumatized and in need of care. Holly and her family were homeless and had been living in her mother’s car— Holly had also suffered years of sexual and physical abuse by a family member.

Holly is just one of the more than 10,000 neglected and abused children who have received comfort, counseling, medical care and hope from the dedicated staff at Casa Pacifica, a charitable organization based in Southern California.

The MDRT Foundation awarded a USD 5,000 grant to Casa Pacifica to support their treatment programs for children from birth to age 17 who are at-risk. This grant was sponsored by Gene L. Mahn, CLU, ChFC, a 42-year MDRT member and Excalibur Knight from Westlake Village, California.

Casa Pacifica provides a safety net for children who are extremely vulnerable because of abuse or neglect. In addition to therapeutic day programs for children and families, Casa Pacifica also offers residential housing for children whose family living situations are no longer safe.

During her stay at Casa Pacifica, Holly received intensive therapeutic counseling and medical care to address the emotional and physical trauma she had endured. After nine months of care at Casa Pacifica, Holly is now 7 years old and is now a much happier little girl and is in the process of being adopted by a loving family.
