2007 Quality of Life Grant Recipients The MDRT Foundation is pleased to announce the following Quality of Life Award winners for 2007. Annually, only 26 recipients are selected for the award granting a total of $110,000 to charities in the name of 26 MDRT member volunteers.
$25,000 Grant Award Winner Volunteer: Jerry D. Sletten $25,000 builds a playground for an underserved community in Ecuador Kids Around the World: Rockford, IL
$10,000 Grant Award Winners Volunteer: Gregory R. Gough $10,000 funds the cost of a specialized training equipment system to help physically disabled children take their first steps and walk on their own Heartspring: Wichita, KS Volunteer: William C. Robertson, CLU, ChFC $10,000 expands the professional staff to provide direct service and support network to families affected by mental retardation Deepwood Foundation: Mentor, OH
$5,000 Grant Award Winners Volunteer: James A. Jacobs, CLU, ChFC $5,000 funds the renovation costs for the Petersburg High School building and provides financial support for specialized programs throughout the school year Appomattox Educational Foundation: Colonial Heights, VA
Volunteer: Stephen Kagawa, LUTCF $5,000 funds a Teacher Training Program and the Hanashi Oral History Program Preservation Initiative to preserve the legacy of Japanese-American veterans who served in World War II Go For Broke National Education Center: Torrance, CA

Volunteer: David R. Davis, CLU, ChFC $2,500 provides patients with alternative communication equipment, speech-enhancing devices, equipment training and speech evaluations regardless of their ability to pay ALS Association - Greater Los Angeles Chapter: Agoura Hills, CA
Volunteer: Martin Edward Duggan $2,500 provides education supplies, software and hardware for children in low-income families Root Cellar: Portland, ME
Volunteer: George O. Eisenberg, CLU, ChFC $2,500 supports the Step One Early Intervention Program, which evaluates and serves infants and toddlers who display signs of becoming at-risk for developmental delay; and the Step One Toddler Enrichment Program, which offers a structured learning environment for children South Shore Mental Health Center: Quincy, MA
