In 2011, MDRT and the MDRT Foundation partnered with Soles4Souls — an international charitable organization that provides gently used and new shoes for children and individuals in need throughout the United States and worldwide.
In addition to making a contribution, Annual Meeting attendees supported this cause by attending the Soles4Souls benefit concert featuring Michael Franti & Spearhead (current album is “The Sound of Sunshine” by Capitol Records. On Tuesday, June 7. MDRT members donated more than 3,500 pairs of shoes for people in need.
During the meeting, MDRT board members also joined Soles4Souls at the Atlanta Mission, a homeless shelter for men to distribute 1,000 pairs of the new shoes.
“Thank you so much for the new pair of shoes. This is the first pair of new shoes that I’ve had in two years. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.”

2010 Promise Appeal: Million Meal Challenge
During the 2010 MDRT Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, more than 2,300 MDRT members accepted the Million Meal Challenge by packing more than 1 million nutritious meals that were sent to children and families suffering from malnutrition around the globe.
In just five days, MDRT members made MDRT history by participating in the largest-ever volunteer event coordinated by MDRT and the MDRT Foundation. Volunteers participated in two-hour shifts to measure, fill, weigh and seal the rice-based meal bags that were shipped directly from Vancouver to people in impoverished communities in Haiti, India, the Philippines, Tanzania and Jamaica. In addition, Annual Meeting attendees contributed more than USD 200,000 to this appeal, which was used to provide additional life-saving meals for people in need worldwide.
