Corporate Gift of Life Insurance (GLIP)

The MDRT Foundation created the Gift of Life Insurance Program (GLIP) in 1986 as a gifting concept that allows MDRT Foundation donors to support worthy organizations through the product that they sell and service—life insurance.

In 1998, Union Central Life Insurance brought the MDRT Foundation’s Corporate Gift of Life Program into being by donating a single premium $2,000 paid-up, whole life policy on the life of each of their 61 agents that were MDRT qualifying members in that year. Through the donation of this gift, the company recognized their agent’s achievement as qualifying members of MDRT and expressed support for the work of the MDRT Foundation.

To expand on the generosity of this gift, 14 of those agents matched Union Central’s gift and increased the contract on their life to a $4,000 paid-up policy.

Both the company and the individuals will receive MDRT Foundation recognition on an ongoing basis.

The Corporate Gift of Life Insurance Program offers companies a creative, flexible and comfortable method to recognize their MDRT members as key persons with a one-year commitment that guarantees an ultimate gift of significance. Corporate Gift of Life Insurance Program donations may be made in any manner, at any level.

The Corporate GLIP enables corporate partners to build the endowment of the Foundation and continue its work of improving the quality of life for people worldwide. This unique program also promotes insurance companies to spread the concept of life insurance as a method to create major gifts for charity.
